A little about me....

Carla van Traa


I have been a Personal Trainer since 1999, and I love it! 


The National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM) are recognised as a world leader in personal training qualifications and in 2009 I qualified as a Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist trainer, accrediting me with REPSs Level 4, the highest level achievable.  


I specialise in personal training that includes KettleBells, TRX and Vipr, all revolve around the theme of functional fitness, allowing you to train and live life to the max through freedom of movement. I undertake regular CPD to ensure I am fully trained in the latest equipment.  I am also a fully qualified Pilates teacher and incorporate this knowledge into my PT and I teach Pilates as a seperate entity though group classes and private lessons. I have a interest in Pelvic floor function and health and have undertaken CPD on the subject, now this is leading me into Hysterectomy and supporting women before and after surgery as they return to movement and exercise.



My own personal fitness regime of course includes the gym! with rowing and cross training, with work on my leg strength and the all important core work.  I love getting out on my mountain bike, and cross country running so when I can I combine the two disciplines into off road duathlons.  Away from the world of  work I love to travel, mainly active wildlife based trips, going Scuba diving, riding my Ducati and I have an allotment to grow my own fruit and veggies.   My weekends and time out are always filled with an activity - this year introducing White Water Rafting and Zip lining into the mix.
